Julia's solo: I really enjoyed Julia's solo. I liked how she integrated the quote in her movement by almost acting out what it was saying. For example, the quote said something about trust and she fell as if she had lost trust. I also liked how she developed and provided variations on the movement of falling. I felt this developed her symbolism in falling by applying it to different parts of the quote. Overall, I thought she had good technique and clarity in her movements and it was really clear what she was doing. I thought she took a lot of risks, like continually falling and cartwheeling, and she was into character. One area that I think she could improve is transitioning between phrases because she often just turned around herself and I think her piece could be stronger with a variety of transitions. She could also utilize her space more by not staying in the same space for too long.

My solo: After watching my solo, I was slightly disappointed in the way it turned out. I didn't like some of the choreography after seeing it on tape, and I thought especially toward the end, the phrasing needed work. Also, when I performed the movements they didn't look as sharp as I thought. This was especially true with my focuses. Since I rehearsed with a mirror, it was confusing to not be looking in it while I was dancing. On a similar note, I also think my performance wasn't as sharp and distinct because I was accustomed to practicing with socks so I was not used to turning and sliding with out them. I also think I could have had a stronger execution. For example I choreographed a lot of powerful walking that did not look powerful when I performed. I also think I could have utilized more emotion in my performance. Even though the performance was disappointing, I was pleased with my use of the concept in the movement. Although the movement didn't always turn out as I intended it, I still feel the intention of releasing fear got across to the audience.
